Florida?s Trey Burton sat out the Kentucky game with back spasms, Gators coach Will Muschamp told the SEC TV Network.
The Gators didn?t need Burton for this one. At halftime, Florida held a 24-0 lead and was cruising on their way to a 4-0 record.
Burton showed his versatility and skill in last week?s win over Tennessee when he rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on three carries, and caught two passes for 38 yards.
Burton formerly played quarterback for Florida, but now is used in a variety of ways on offense, including out of the wildcat formation.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the last time Burton faced Kentucky, he scored six touchdowns?five rushing and one receiving. It was a Florida scoring record for a non-kicker.
Florida is off next week before playing host to LSU on Oct. 6.
